Laura Whitmore may have missed out on the chance to host the next series of The Xtra Factor (spin-off to the X Factor), but she'll still be a regular feature on our TV screens as she's rumoured to be headed for Strictly Come Dancing's 14th series. We thought she'd be the ideal host for this popular celebrity competition but as it turns out, she will compete as a celebrity herself, this coming autumn.

According to The Sun, this makes perfect sense for Laura. A source says: "Laura loves the show and is partial to dance on a night out so Strictly is a great fit." And it's hoped that she'd 'bring some glamour' to proceedings.

Is that an insult to everyone else who's signed up?

If she continues to follow suit with Caroline Flack, the X Factor gig may be hers in just a few short years.

This Bray-born star's career is showing no signs of slowing down, and for that, we salute her.

In other Strictly news, Gleb Savchenko threw in the towel just this week, following the departure of fellow professional dancers, Aliona Vilani, Ola Jordan, Kristina Rihanoff and Tristan MacManus. For the 14th series, we'll be introduced to a whole new line-up of pros, among which world champion Katya Jones, Ukrainian champion Oksana Platero and Spanish professional Gorka Marquez are included.

Stay tuned to BBC1! And we'll let you know as soon as Whitmore confirms it.
