Veep and Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus has revealed that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The actress shared the news on Twitter via a photographed note which also talked about the importance of universal healthcare:

 

“Our love and support go out to Julia and her family at this time,” a statement from HBO reads. “We have every confidence she will get through this with her usual tenacity and undaunted spirit, and look forward to her return to health and to HBO for the final season of Veep.”

The actress has received a number of messages of love and support from her colleagues and co-stars. Among them are Veep creator Armando Iannucci and co-stars Tony Hale and Usman Ally as well as breast cancer survivor Christina Applegate. Judd Apatow, Debra Messing, Sarah Silverman, Nigella Lawson and Bobby Moynihan also sent heartfelt messages.
