Well that wasn't much a break now was it?

It feels like only yesterday since Jon Stewart hung up his hat on The Daily Show and handed the reins over to Trevor Noah and now news comes that he's headed to HBO in a four-year deal that will see him making 'short-form digital content' for the US network.

HBO also have a first-look option on any film or TV ideas that Stewart may come up with in the next four years which leaves plenty of mystery and potential wonderment to come from the two.

Stewart's first project sounds like more familiar territory for both him and us as he'll be making short content that sees him 'view current events through his unique prism'.

In a statement released today, Stewart said: "Appearing on television 22 minutes a night clearly broke me. I’m pretty sure I can produce a few minutes of content every now and again."

Sounds like a win/win for everyone.
