It was announced last November that The Big Bang Theory would be getting a prequel spin-off that follows the story of a young Sheldon growing up in Texas.
The new show, which is set to be titled 'Sheldon' will take on a different style from Big Bang in that it will be shot with a single camera as opposed to in front of a live studio audience, which means the annoying interruption of laughter will be gone... could this mean it might actually have to be funny?

Jim Parsons, who of course plays Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory, will serve as an executive producer on the spin-off while the sitcom's original creators, Chuck Lorre and Steve Molaro, will produce.
Speaking about the new series recently, Parsons told ETonline, "[The writers] have done, from the beginning, such a good job of building such a history and a layered nature to all these characters. It just seems like a really wasted opportunity if you don't decide to explore the origin story with that. I mean, they've layered so many things in there over the past decade that is already there to be drawn from."
Parsons also added that whoever takes on the role of a young Sheldon should: "Watch me as little as possible, and take that thing by the horns. Make it your own."
As of yet, there has been no word on when the pilot will go into production.
