Remember 7th Heaven? It's up there with Touched by an Angel as one of the most wholesome shows ever.

It was also the series that launched the career of Jessica Biel, who played Mary Camden from the age of 14 on the popular show. She starred on 7th Heaven from series one to six, from 1997 until 2002, as well as appearing as a recurring star in season seven and as a special guest in series eight and ten.

It was on Jessica's 18th birthday however, that she decided to let her wild child out and posed topless for Gear magazine. This was not a very Camden-like thing to do nor did it keep in line with her character on the show so it seems it resulted in more than a few feathers being ruffled.

Speaking to on E!’s Awards Chatter podcast, the 36-year-old said: "I certainly had to apologise to Aaron Spelling. I think my entire crew and cast were, needless to say, shocked.

"The worst part was I had to go back to work. The thing comes out and literally I had to go back to work that next morning. Everybody was… they didn’t know if they should look me in the eye and I was just a mess."

She continued: "You’re young. You don’t mean to hurt people. You don’t mean to do this."

Biel, who is married to Justin Timberlake, insisted she didn't do it to raise her profile, saying: "I think I was 17, I’m a woman now, I’m a grown up now. I’m sexy, ya know, this type of vibe and honestly, it just went a little awry.

"It definitely never was meant to be some shocking, exposing situation and whether it was my own sort of ya know ability to try to be my own person by myself, ya know, confident woman. I said yes to things that probably I should’ve said no to. It was just one of those things that got out of hand."
