It seems as though just about every big TV show gets a spinoff these days. Breaking Bad got Better Call Saul, How I Met Your Mother is (unfortunately) possibly getting How I Met Your Father, and now there's talking of Sons of Anarchy getting a prequel as well.
The show, which Charlie Hunnam famously dumped Fifty Shades of Grey for, is quite the hit Stateside, so it's no wonder that creator Kurt Sutter wants to get a bit more mileage out of his road hogs. People reports that he opened up about his plans at a recent Hurricane Sandy benefit in New Jersey, and wasn't shy about sharing his plans for the future.
"I've had discussions with the network about it, and I think they are open to it,", he apparently said. "I think there is something really interesting about the origins of the club. And to do a period piece set in the '60s, post-Vietnam could be kind of cool. I don't think we would dovetail and start right after the series ended, but it's something I'm potentially excited about it."
It's really no surprise given the fact that the show is due to come to an end after Season 7. Fans at Comic-Con were promised "a pool of blood", so we're guessing any notion of a follow-up series that focuses on life after the end of Jax Teller's tale is most definitely just that. A notion.
Guess Charlie knew what he was doing when he handed the errr, reigns, to Jamie Dornan, eh?
