It has been in the rumour mill for the last few weeks, but it has officially been confirmed that ITV have bought The Voice from the BBC, with the singing competition airing on its new home from January 2017.

The broadcaster will also make a spin-off show for ITV2, and as well as that they have agreed to make two seasons of The Voice Kids, which will be a new singing show for eight-to-14-year olds.

A statement released by ITV's director of television, Peter Fincham said; "ITV is the natural home of big entertainment so we are thrilled that The Voice and The Voice Kids are both joining our family alongside brilliant shows like The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, Saturday Night Takeaway and I’m a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here."

So it looks like the addition of The Voice to ITV's schedule will not affect X Factor, given that they are on at different times of the year. Although ITV's contract with Cowell is due for renewal next year, however the music mogul also has the ratings winner Britain's Got Talent to offer so no doubt ITV won't want to lose that.

And who knows, maybe the winners of The Voice UK will have more luck over on ITV. Can anyone even name one winner of it... seriously?
