There's good and bad news for Homeland fans.

The good news is that the show has been renewed for two more seasons. Meaning we'll have new adventures centering around the brilliant Carrie Bradshaw and co on our screens until 2019.

The bad news is that the usual October premiere date for the show has been pushed back to January. Meaning we'll have longer to wait to learn the fate of Carrie and Quinn (Rupert Friend) after the events of season 5.

Season six of the show is expected to focus on the period between the election of the US President and the Inauguration. Homeland was praised for keeping up to date with real world storylines in season 5 when they referenced the terror attacks in Pairs.

It's possible that the show plans to film later in the year so as to borrow elements from the real life US Presidential election. Though we think Donald Trump would be too outrageous for Homeland's serious tone.
