The cast of the The Get Down includes Jaden Smith, Grandmaster Flash, Ramon Cruz and Shaolin Fantastic while it's produced by Sony Pictures Television for Netflix.

The new Netflix original animated series will feature some of the most well-known Beatles songs all woven into children's stories. It's got quite a few familiar voices on it too, featuring the likes of Pink, Sia, Robbie Williams, Eddie Vedder, The Shins, The Lumineers, Aloe Blacc and James Corden.

Here's Sia singing Blackbird...

Wolf Hall - 25th August

Homeland actor Damian Lewis made his return to the small screen back in January 2015 as King Henry VIII in this much lauded BBC drama, and now's your chance to catch up on Netflix if you missed out. The six part series is based on the hugely popular Hilary Mantel's novels (Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies) and is directed by BAFTA winning director Peter Kosminsky.

It follows the rise of Thomas Cromwell (played by the now Oscar winning Mark Rylance) from a blacksmith’s son to the heights of the Tudor court. The opening episode sees Henry VIII in a bit of dilemma as he wishes to end his marriage to Katherine of Aragon for Anne Boleyn.

Classic Henry VIII, wha'?

Don’t Trust The B—- In Apartment 23 (Seasons 1-2)  - 1st August

Before Krysten Ritter was Jessica Jones, or Aaron Paul's ill-fated girlfriend in Breaking Bad, she was the b*tch in Apartment 23 for two seasons. Ritter plays June Colburn, who moves from Indiana to New York to pursue her dream job, but ends up moving in with a party girl named Chloe, who demands rent up front and then behaves outrageously until they leave. However, she has met her match with June.

James Van Der Beek also stars, if you were a bit of a Dawson's Creek fan back in the day.

COMEDY

David Cross: Making America Great Again - 5th August

If you're in the mood for some stand-up, then you'll enjoy this new show from David Cross aka Arrested Development's Tobias Fünke, where he tackles everything from Donald Trump, to America's gun control policy as well as how he believes religion is glorified superstition. You'll laugh so much you might blue yourself.

MOVIES

XOXO  - 26th August

A Netflix original movie starring Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) and Graham Phillips (The Good Wife). This ensemble comedy follows a group of six 20-somethings on a crazy adventure to the biggest EDM festival in America, XOXO, with the movie looking at their exploits over the course of one night.

The Little Prince - 5th August

A new animation that will give you ALL of the feels. It's adapted from a famous French book and has quite the cast of voices too, including Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, Paul Rudd, Marion Cotillard, James Franco, Ricky Gervais and more. Just lovely.

Brooklyn - 8th August

Yep, you can now watch Brooklyn on Netflix, as Saoirse Ronan stars in this Oscar nominated movie based on the book by Colm Tóibín, with John Crowley directing. Ronan stars as a young Irish immigrant forced to move to New York city for work but is crippled with homesickness initially and struggles to find her feet. However, things soon change when she meets a young Italian gentleman...

Have the tissues at the ready because this movie will pull on just about every heart string you have.

The Lobster - 8th August

Another much praised Irish flick arrives on the streaming service, as Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz star in this quirky dystopian drama about a world where people must find love within a certain time or they will turn into an animal. Hey, it could happen.

Creed - 8th August

Fans of the original Rocky movies were a little hesitant when news of this spin-off flick first arrived. However Creed blew all expectations out of the water, earning an Oscar nod for Stallone while Michael B Jordan was also praised for holding his own as Apollo Creed's son. This box office smash is difficult not to enjoy.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - 10th August

Sequel to 2011's Planet of the Apes, with a lot more apes and a lot less James Franco. It's ten years after the Simian flu wiped out most of the world's humans, and Caesar and his gang are pretty much top dogs. However there's a small band of people still knockin' around, but will they be friend or foe to the ape leader?

Sicario – 1st August

Undoubtedly one of the best movies of 2015. Emily Blunt absolutely kicks ass as FBI agent Kate Macer, who is tasked with taking down a Mexican drug cartel.

If you haven't seen it yet, get on it, a sequel is already in the works.
