It's been another year where TV has once more raised the bar and delivered some quality drama with star-studded casts and stellar performances. The Emmys for TV land are what the Academy Awards are to the movie world, so obviously bagging one of these bad boys is no small feat to the stars and shows nominated.

This year the awards are also a Throneless affair, with the new series only beginning on Monday and the last season not airing in the eligibility period for this year’s awards. There is still plenty of competition though in a year that brought us Stranger Things, The Crown and of course the hugely popular Big Little Lies, which clears up in the nominations below.

Veep star Anna Chlumsky and Criminal Minds alum Shemar Moore announced the nominees today in Los Angeles for what will be the 69th annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

The awards will be hosted by Stephen Colbert and take place on September 17th.
