Hannibal's getting resurrected for TV. Sir Hopkins has some tips for his small screen successor.
Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, who you may recognise as Le Chiffre from Casino Royale (he looks a bit like Troels Hartmann off season 1 of The Killing, but it's not him. That's Lars Mikkelsen, Mads' brother), is starring as Dr. Hannibal Lecter in the new TV series and Anthony Hopkins has been kind enough to offer some advice on how to tackle the role.
Speaking with Vulture, he said: "The key is, when playing a crazy man like that, is to play the total opposite. Play him as totally sane. Play him as ordinary [and] don't try to be evil." No sucking on phantom fava beans then, ye hear?
Hannibal, which is due to air Stateside on NBC early next year, will also star Hugh Dancy, Eddie Izzard and Laurence Fishburne.
