The news was announced today by Netflix and CBS Studios that they have entered into an international licensing agreement for the new television series.

Netflix will now be the exclusive premiere home of Star Trek in 188 countries (excluding the USA and Canada).

Every episode of the new series will be available on the platform within 24 hours of its US premiere.

Moreover, every single episode of the iconic TV series, including Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise, will be available on Netflix around the world by the end of 2016.

This adds up to 727 episodes, so sci fi fans will be able to binge to their heart’s content.

The news corresponds with the release of the latest Star Trek film, Star Trek Beyond, which is out in cinemas this Friday.

The co-creators/exec producers for the new series have roots in both the original series and the new saga of films, as Fuller’s writing credits include Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager, while Kurtzman co-wrote and produced blockbuster Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness.

The series will involve a new ship, new characters and new journeys. It is estimated that it will premiere in January 2017.
