The Batman prequel TV show is one of the most highly anticipated series' of the Autumn, as we get to visit a Gotham City before Batman was, well, Batman. Bruce Wayne is just a little lad while The Penguin is just a twenty-something young fella (and not, Danny DeVito).

While the show itself will be premiering on Fox on September 22nd, Netflix have just announced today that it's exclusive On Demand home will be with themselves in all territories. Each season of the series will be available to Netflix members following linear broadcast beginning in 2015.

“Gotham is the most anticipated new series of the autumn season and we are thrilled to offer it to our members around the world,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer at Netflix. “The Batman origins story is sure to have massive global appeal so it is fitting that, along with Warner Television, we have created a new model for distributing a show that international and domestic audiences will love.”

The show's main focus is on Commissioner Gordon who is played by the ever cool Ben McKenzie (of 'The OC' and 'Southland' fame) and begins with him arriving back from war to help save the city he grew up in, and not even a Batman to help him!

It also stars Jada Pinkett Smith as a gangster called Fish Mooney, the boss of Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin on the show with the young Bruce Wayne played by 13 year old David Mazouz, known for his role in TV show 'Touch'. While Donal Logue (Sons of Anarchy, Vikings, Terriers) and Sean Pertwee (The Musketeers, Elementary, Luther, The Tudors) will also make up this fantastic cast.
