Anyone else has hooked on the drama of Poldark as we are? Aidan Turner 'ey, who knew he had it in him.

The show has been receiving rave reviews since its debut and winning rating wars all over the place, so it's no surprise that the BBC have decided to renew it for a second season.

The series has so far managed to pull in 8 million views a week and has made quite the heart throb of Irish actor Aidan Turner, who plays the lead Ross Poldark.

Turner recently took part in a BBC online Q&A which descended into debauchery as fans essentially just wanted to know how they could marry him or 'How to refrain from licking my flatscreen TV?'

The series is actually adapted from a set of novels by Winston Graham and was originally a hit show in the seventies too. The news of a second season came from BBC One controller Charlotte Moore who said;

"I can exclusively announce that Sunday night's new phenomenon Poldark that has captured the nation's hearts has been commissioned for a second series. Aidan Turner will return as Ross Poldark and Eleanor Tomlinson as Demelza in a new eight-part series written by Debbie Horsfield that will cover books three and four of Winston Graham's series."

Happy days! And fair play to Turner for being a big ride, and you know, a good actor etc etc.

You can see Poldark on BBC1 at 9pm on Sunday nights.
