The fate of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia has been up in the air for some time now, but it looks like Glenn Howerton - better known as Dennis - has helped to put some of the rumours to bed.

The last time we checked in, Charlie Day made it clear that he didn't want to continue the series without the input of Howerton. That was in August, but now Howerton himself has finally spoken up and given his two cents on the whole thing. "I’ve not officially left yet and I hope people understand that," said Howerton.

So, what's that mean? Well, who knows. The show isn't due back until late 2018, and as we reported previously, the entire cast has a full dance-card for the forseeable future. While there is a commitment to make it to twelve seasons, the likelihood of Howerton staying on until that date is a bit iffy.

Howerton made the comments at the TCA tour, where he was promoting his new show and was discussing the reality of playing someone for so many years. "I think one of the tough things about doing a show for twelve years is that people are going to have a hard time seeing you as anything else. I realize that can be a little bit of a struggle," said Howerton.

That's very true, because he'll always be Dennis to us and he's Demonstrating Value.
