Could she be any more bitter?

Co-creator of the hit series that defined a generation of 20 and 30-somethings Marta Kauffman was at the Television Critics Association press tour yesterday discussing her new Netflix show 'Grace & Frankie' when the topic turned to 'Friends' and the cast's demands as the series progressed, including the fact that they got $1 million per episode for the show's final two seasons.

"A million dollars an episode is kinda ridiculous. Let’s be honest, that’s a lot of money." she told the gathered press. "I think it's inflated. And there’s something unrealistic about it. Not everybody is going to get a million dollars an episode. So I think actually what we’re all doing [now] is actually more reasonable and makes more sense."

Kauffman also went on to note how with platforms like Netflix it makes it more difficult for actors to hold a show hostage to their demands because of their fame or intrinsic value to the show's continued success, at least for the time being. Whether this is good for everyone remains to be seen.
