It's the TV reboot of the year, in our opinion, as the classic nineties game show Crystal Maze will return to our screens for a one-off special in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

It was announced a few weeks ago that actor Stephen Merchant would be taking over as host from the original iconic presenter, Richard O'Brien. However, now it's been announced that O'Brien actually will be showing up in the special.

According to Digital Spy, Merchant will receive a video message from O'Brien at the start of the show, which airs this Sunday, with the former host telling Merchant not to make a dog's dinner of hosting.

He also jokes with Merchant "that guy who played Doctor Who" would have been a better host, addressing the rumours that David Tennant would host the reboot.

Ah Richard, we've missed you so.

The celebrities competing in the Crystal Maze will be Josh Widdicombe, Michelle Keegan, Jonnie Peacock, Sara Cox and team captain Rio Ferdinand.

Crystal Maze airs Sunday, October 16 at 9pm on Channel 4.
