It looks like Jack Whitehall was getting desperate in his search for a leading lady for his new BBC Two mini-series. Luckily a newly married housewife is on hand to give him a dig out.

Eva Longoria is set to play the object of Whitehall's affection in a new BBC Two period mini-series called Decline and Fall. Set in 1920s Wales, the show is a bitingly funny satire that follows the life and times of hapless Paul Pennyfeather (Whitehall) who is sent down from Oxford after a wild and drunken party. He finds himself qualifying for the position of schoolmaster at a boys’ private school where he meets the delectable Margot Beste-Chetwynde (Longoria). She's wealthy, powerful, and beautiful South American woman, who has Pennyfeather getting all hot under the collar.

The series is being produced by Ben Cavey who was behind the Whitehall starring Bad Education. Filming begins this summer.
