Ain't no party like an Albert Square party... yeah... sorry.

EastEnders today announced that former S Club 7 member Hannah Spearritt would be joining the cast.

The singer will have a short stint on the soap later in the year as the newest member of Karen Taylor's family. Hannah is set to play her younger sister Kandice and by the sounds of it, she will be just as rowdy as the rest of that lot.

Speaking of her new role, Hannah said, "I'm over the moon to be joining the show, it's such a huge part of British telly.

"I'm really looking forward to getting started and I can't wait to see the Square in the flesh. Walford here I come!"

Hannah follows in the footsteps of Blue's Lee Ryan who also joined the soap this year as the Vic's barman Woody Woodward.

The isn't Hannah's first big acting gig either, as she has previously had a starring role as the time-travelling zookeeper Abby Maitland in Primeval and more recently as Mercedes Christiein Casualty.

The announcement follows the news that former EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite will return to the soap shortly after 16 years away.
