One tiny thing has been bothering us about this latest season of Game of Thrones, okay well, a lot of things have been bothering us but at least this one has an explanation.

Have you noticed The Night King looks a bit different this season but can't quite put your finger on it? We have and on looking into it further it turns out The Night King is now played by a different actor and has been since season six, although we didn't really get much White Walker action to notice last year.

Welsh-American actor Richard Brake played him in seasons four and five, but Slovak stuntman Vladimir 'Furdo' Furdik has played him since.

Spot the difference:

While they do look very similar, we can't help but think that Brake makes for the more intimidating Night King of the two, but maybe that's because his 'Come at me, crow' look after the battle at Hardhome haunts us to this day.

Here's the real life actors side by side - on the left is Brake, on the right is Furdik.

It was Furdik who played the role of the human Night King in season six as he was a 'First Man' that was captured by the Children of the Forest and turned into a White Walker.

It's not known why the role was switched, although it may because Furdik is a stuntman and that will be necessary for The Night King in episodes to come... but that's just a guess. Brake isn't an unknown actor with previous roles in Batman Begins and Thor: The Dark World as well as Showtime's Ray Donovan, so perhaps there was scheduling difficulty with another project.

Either way, Furdik is here to stay.

Rumour has it they have a new dragon in to play Viserion now too, the former dragon who played him wasn't fond of the cold apparently, so it's all go beyond that wall.
