Say it ain't so lads, say it ain't so! Seems the upcoming 8th series of Dexter could mark the end for everyone's favourite serial killer (Christian Bale in American Psycho doesn't count, that's not TV).

CBS Corporation CEO Les Moonves, who looks after Showtime (the network that makes Dexter) kind of gave the game away at a conference this week, The Hollywood Reporter says. And they usually know what they're talking about lads. "We have Ray Donovan coming on with Liev Schreiber, which comes on with Dexter's last season starting in June indicated that the serial killer drama will wrap its run following the upcoming eighth season" Les Moonves told the crowd.

For those of you who are wondering who Ray Donovan is, it's actually the name of a new Showtime series which sees Schreiber taking on the title role to 'fix' all those little problems that bother LA's most rich and famous people. We just hope there's still room for Dexter too... Sure isn't he a 'fixer' of sorts himself?

Still no official word on the future of Michael C Hall's character though, so we're not going to start panicking just yet. Plus, we're still on season 7, so even if he does get the chop there's plenty more to see beforehand!
