Last week brought some great news to fans of The Good Wife as it was announced that the show's original creators, Robert and Michelle King, had signed on to write the spin-off. Up until now we knew that it was set to star Christine Baranski (Diane Lockhart) and Cush Jumbo (Lucca Quinn), and it would be set a year after the events of The Good Wife finale.

Now Deadline has revealed even more details, including the addition of fan favourite Sarah Steele to the cast, who played Eli Gold’s (Alan Cumming) daughter Marissa Gold.

Robert and Michelle King told Deadline; "We’re absolutely thrilled that Sarah will be joining the show. She’s a magnificent comedian with the dramatic skill to keep every scene real."

The show itself is set to 'centre around an enormous financial scam that has destroyed the reputation of a young lawyer, while simultaneously wiping out her mentor Diane Lockhart’s savings. Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, they join Lucca Quinn at one of Chicago’s preeminent law firms'.

The ten-episode series will premiere on CBS in February, before its episodes are released on CBS’ SVOD and live streaming platform All Access. Hopefully it won't be too much longer after that until we get it this side of the pond.
