The IFTA Gala TV Awards took place in Dublin last night, with the stars of Irish television - and the Irish stars of television elsewhere, too -  turning out in force to the Mansion House for the annual ceremony.

Big winners on the night included the likes of Dancing with the Stars, which won in the Best Entertainment category, while the perennially-popular Derry Girls bagged Best Comedy.

Actress Sharon Horgan triumphed for her work on Catastrophe, beating the likes of Seana Kerslake, Cathy Belton and Hilary Rose to Best Female Performance, and TV3's Red Rock - which has since been cancelled - beat Fair City and Ros na Run to Best Soap/Continuing Drama.

Meanwhile, Room to Improve fans will be happy to know that it won in the Factual category, although unfortunately none of the recent season's more... ahem... 'combative' clients were present to accept the award with Dermot Bannon, more's the pity.
