One of the most loved, but short-lived cult shows of all time is making a comeback.
HBO President Michael Lombardo has confirmed that we are getting a Deadwood movie. He told TV Line “David (Milch) has our commitment that we are going to do it. He pitched what he thought generally the storyline would be - and knowing David, that could change. But it’s going to happen.”
Timothy Olyphant, Anna Gunn, Ian McShane, Dayton Callie, John Hawkes and Garret Dillahunt would all presumably return - despite having gone on to solid success in other shows.
If you never saw the show, it came from the brain of David Milch and ran from 2004 -06 finding an incredibly loyal cult following in those two years. It was a really great show featuring superb acting and some hilarious vulgarity (see below, but only if you love cursing and aren't easily offended).
No time frame as of yet, but we'll keep you posted.
