US network Showtime, the home of Homeland and other hits, has won a bidding war for Daniel Craig's first US TV project, Purity.

Purity is based on the 2015 book of the same name, by Jonathan Frazen. It follows a young woman, named Pip, as she travels around the US and South America in years following her college graduation and meets a variety of colourful characters along the way. There's no word on who Craig will be playing, or any other members of the cast.

The book was a huge hit in the US, and there were a number of networks interested in broadcasting the show, with Showtime winning out in the end. The series will consist of 20 episodes, to be aired over the course of two years. Craig is also an executive producer on the project, with producer Scott Rudin also on board the project.

The show is due to start filming in 2017, and seems to suggest that Craig is definitely done with Bond.
