It's been off our screens for almost five years, but Curb Your Enthusiasm is finally on its way back to HBO.

What's more, it's going to be returning a lot sooner than we initially expected. That's according to Jeff Schafer, one of the longtime producers on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, and a close friend of its star, Larry David. "It won’t be long. It won’t be long. Geologically speaking, it’ll be a blink of an eye," said Schaffer in a recent interview.

"Whether the next season of Curb came out one year later, three years later, five years later, 20 years later - detailing the petty behaviour of the selfish and the self-serving is an evergreen business." He's not wrong, either. Looking back at even the earliest episodes of Curb, it's clear that the show hasn't lost any of its lustre and is just as hilarious then as it was now.

What's more, Larry David's graduation from television to film wasn't all that great. Although he did star in Woody Allen's Whatever Works, the film wasn't exactly a goldmine at the box-office. What's more, his stint on Saturday Night Live as Democrat candidate Bernie Sanders has been hailed as one of the best impersonations in the show's long-running history.

Maybe it's time L-Dodd just came back to what he knows? Speaking of, the original cast looks set to return as well. "We’d love to have everyone back," said Schaffer. "And I think everyone wants to be back, so it should be business as usual."

Richard Lewis took to Twitter to confirm the news as well as announcing that he'll be back for the ninth season. As for JB Smoove, he too confirmed his return for the ninth season whilst Jeff Garlin confirmed that shooting will begin in 2017.

That's prettay, prettay, prettay good news. Let's watch one of the best scenes of the entire series.
