The claymation series that brought the greatest celebrity spats into the middle of the ring is getting a reboot/remake/revival.

Celebrity Deathmatch has been off our screens for a while, and looking back on it the whole show seems like the weirdest, stupidest idea that should never have worked at all. However, in the flesh (clay), it was bloody entertaining, and it's been gone just long enough to warrant another turn on the merry-go-round.

Well, at least that's what the folks at MTV 2 think, as according to The Hollywood Reporter, they've ordered a pilot for another version of the iconic show. The show has been cancelled a few times before; it went off the air in 2002 and was briefly revived in '06, before being cancelled again in '07.

This new version is a "reinvention", by all accounts, and is ready "for a world of social media and hourly Twitter wars" according to a statement. There's no word on when the show will air on MTV2 in the US, but we're looking forward to seeing who gets the claymation treatment first. Something tells us it won't be Kid Rock...
