In incredible breaking news this evening, the young man featured in the Netflix series, Making a Murderer, Brendan Dassey has had his conviction overturned.

The conviction was overturned by a Federal Court which means Dassey will be out within three months.

People Magazine obtained a copy of Judge William Duffin's decision

"The investigators repeatedly claimed to already know what happened on October 31 and assured Dassey that he had nothing to worry about," the decision reads. "These repeated false promises, when considered in conjunction with all relevant factors, most especially Dassey's age, intellectual deficits, and the absence of a supportive adult, rendered Dassey's confession involuntary under the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments."

Dassey "confessed" in 2006 to helping his Uncle murder Teresa Halbach on Oct. 31st, 2005 and then dispose of the body. But during the series of Making a Murderer, that confession appeared to be questionable at best.

Steven Avery is still incarcerated, but his new representation are confident of overturning that conviction also.
