Jason Bourne looks set to return to our screens once more but this time as a TV show.

A pilot has been ordered by USA network called Treadstone which will follow the origin story and present-day actions of the titular CIA black ops program that created Jason Bourne. The series will see sleeper agents across the globe mysteriously "awakened" to resume their deadly missions.

It's set to be written and executive produced by Tim Kring, who created the NBC series Heroes while Ramin Bahrani (99 Homes, Fahrenheit 41) will direct.

USA network, whose other shows include Mr Robot, The Sinner, and Suits, also ordered pilots from Mr Robot creator Sam Esmail called Briarpatch, a crime thriller called Erase starring Denis Leary and a high school cheerleading show called Dare Me which will be executive produced by former HBO programming president Michael Lombardo.
