Warning: Spoilers below if you are not caught up with the most recent episodes of 'Better Call Saul'.

'Breaking Bad's prequel series 'Better Call Saul' may end up going past the storyline of the original show in upcoming seasons, according to its star Bob Odenkirk.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about the "multiple elements to [Jimmy's] downfall", Bob said: "Maybe he gets to put his life back together again. I don't know.

"Because we don't know where the story ends. I know when we started we thought it ended with Saul, but of course, now we have Gene, and there's a real good chance that the story carries on with Gene."

Gene is of course the alias Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman takes post 'Breaking Bad' and who we have seen brief glimpses of in flash forwards on the show.

While last month, Odenkirk revealed that season 4 is very close to Walter White's era saying: "It's coming around and it's so close that it's the next thing to happen.

"It's so close that you can see it's right there at the end of the season essentially, but it takes up more time."

A post-'Breaking Bad' era would also allow even more crossovers than we've already seen, perhaps we may even get to see how Jesse Pinkman is doing (which had better be living out his best life carving wood somewhere).
