Just because we aren't involved (again) it doesn't mean we won't be watching World Cup 2014 and while we're sure our own national broadcaster will be doing a grand job with the coverage ITV and the BBC have actually done one better by revealing their broadcast schedule for the group stages already.

Y'see the UK broadcasters have joined forces and decided to split coverage of the 2014 World Cup between them. They'll each take on about half the matches, leaving plenty of room for the soaps and dramas for viewers who'd rather not be stuck watching the football all day.

ITV kicks things off with the opening match between hosts Brazil and Croatia on June 12, while the BBC follows up with Spain v Holland the next day. Then it's BBC with first pick of the round of 16 and semi-finals, whilst ITV gets preference during the quarter-finals. Both of them will show the final though, meaning there'll be football for all.
