Amy Schumer is the latest high-profile comedian (Netflix previously paid $40 million for two specials from Chris Rock as well as making a pact for three Dave Chappelle specials) to secure a deal with the streaming service.

The stand-up special will launch globally on the platform on March 7th. It was filmed on November 5th at Denver, Colorado's Bellco Theatre.

Schumer said in a statement: “Very happy to be a part of the Netflix family for this special. Maybe now they will look at my Stranger Things audition tape to play the demogorgon for Season 2.”

Her hit series Inside Amy Schumer is currently on hiatus, but Amy has been keeping busy by promoting her best-selling memoir The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo and filming Snatched with Goldie Hawn, which is out this year. She also has Jason Hall's PTSD drama Thank You For Your Service in the pipeline as well as a live-action Barbie movie produced by Sony.

As a stand-up comic, Schumer has performed sold-out tours around the world. She sold out London’s The O2 Arena and became the first female to sell out New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden (which she did twice).

"Totally fearless and always hilarious, Amy Schumer's bold and singular voice in comedy is a brilliant match for Netflix and our global comedy fans," said Lisa Nishimura, VP of original documentary and comedy, Netflix
