While there's not much we all don't know about Friends at this stage, we were shocked to find out today that a scene from the hit sitcom was banned in some countries - including America - back in the nineties.

Jane Sibbett and Jessica Hecht, who played Carol and Susan, appeared on ITV's Lorraine today and talked about how their characters' lesbian wedding from season two was cut by authorities in certain places.

"It was the first lesbian wedding to ever be shown on TV and they blocked it out in some affiliates," revealed Jane.

"But it all worked out as we got so much press because they blocked it. We actually won awards for that storyline!"

Jane also discussed how she had no idea how influential their characters had been until she met some of the fans their storyline had touched.

"I remember meeting a man at one awards ceremony that was held by an organisation that works with gay families.

"He said to me that if he'd had Carol and Susan as role models when he was a young boy, he probably wouldn't have tried to [die by] suicide so many times. I hadn't even thought of that."

Both Jane and Jessica - who seriously don't look like they have aged a day since their time on Friends - are currently in London to promote Friends Fest, which is being held in locations across the UK until September 24.
