There's so many celebrity talent shows out there these days that you may not have noticed that ITV's Dancing on Ice has been off the air for three whole years now. The show, often nicknamed 'Strictly on Ice' is set to make a comeback with a few changes in store too.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield confirmed the news on This Morning earlier, announcing that they would be returning to host the series (which was actually how the co-presenters first met back in 2006) while Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean (aka British Olympic skating legends Torvill and Dean) will also be back although with a slightly different role. In previous seasons they served more as mentors to the contestants but this time around they will be head judges.

In an official statement, Torvill and Dean said: "We are thrilled that Dancing On Ice is returning to ITV next year and delighted to announce our new roles on the judging panel.

"The show struck such a huge chord with the viewers ever since it launched in 2006, with many of them taking up skating as a result.

"We can't wait to be back on screen in 2018, with a bigger and better series for a brand new audience."

Other changes to the show include two ice rinks as opposed to one – a training rink and studio rink - in what will be a brand new purpose built set for the show. There's also set to be new music, new titles and overall a more contemporary look given to the series.
