Before you think to yourself that we're talking about James Corden's quiz show - which was basically a rip-off of They Think It's All Over, which was in itself a rip-off of A Question Of Sport - no, we're not talking about any of these.

We are, of course, talking about the excellent 1992 movie with Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell which saw Hanks playing a frustrated baseball coach who takes on the responsibility of coaching a women's baseball team and the resulting comedy that ensues. THR is now reporting that Abbi Jacobson of Broad City fame is close to making a deal with Amazon to put a contemporary spin on the film and turn it into a half-hour comedy series.

There's no word yet on who's playing who, but THR's report did point out that Jacobson will not have an on-screen role and will instead be involved in writing and producing the series. Amazon's push into broad comedies is gathering pace, with the likes of Red Oaks garnering high praise for its take on '80s teen comedies.

Granted, the bigger story with Amazon is how it's spending close to half a billion to make Lord Of The Rings into a TV series, but obviously it isn't the only game in town for them.

Pun unintended, but we'll take it.
