Come on George, for once just give the people what they want.

HBO know they have their biggest hit ever on their hands with 'Game of Thrones' and if they can keep some of the world alive after the show finishes its seven seasons, they will.

Unfortunately that decision doesn't lie with them alone, and the network are still bashing out ideas with George R.R. Martin for a follow-up to the show.

Answering questions from EW, HBO's programming president Casey Bloys said, when asked if they've figured out the specifics of a spin-off show, "I would say it’s still kind of preliminary ongoing talks. There are areas we are exploring, but I wouldn’t point to any one and say, ‘This is what we’re going to do.’"

But knowing Martin, he'll probably just dangle the idea in front of us up until the finale and then say no, stabbing us all in the chest once again.
