One of the most irritating things about King Joffrey's character on Game of Thrones was that he often DID literally get away with murder. From having babies killed to using his own brand of sadistic torture, Joffrey was, in the words of Rory McCann who plays The Hound; 'a wee prick'.

Every so often though, we were given small moments when Joffrey actually did get what was coming to him, and that smug smile was, however briefly, wiped off his face.

*Very recent spoilers below.*

1. One of the first times this happened was courtesy of Arya's direwolf who gave him a well-deserved mauling when he threatened her. This was that famous butcher boy incident, which didn't end up working out too well for either the boy or the wolf, but for a brief moment, justice was served!

2. Ah Tyrion, truly the voice of reason in a world gone mad. He has never been afraid of the King, and has often put him in his place, both verbally and physically. Who could forget, 'I'm telling mother!' from season one.

This wasn't of course to be the last time Tyrion gave him a good smack, it thankfully happened again in season two...

3. He's not the only one who has partaken in some smacking violence with the nefarious King, even his loving mother Cersei has shown him the back of her hand.

4. One of our altogether favourite moments though was when Tywin Lannister essentially sent the King off to bed, Tywin can be a hard ass too sometimes but man, we loved him in that moment.

5. And last but certainly not least, there was the moment Joffrey dearest finally met his maker, who we can blame for this we have yet to find out, but let's face it, they are already a hero. After trying to make a fool of Tyrion throughout the wedding celebrations, we eventually see Joffrey stop his tormenting as he seems to have something in his throat...something rather biiii... and oh my God, Joffrey's dead!
His reign of terror is over, and the best part is, there is absolutely zero honour in that death, a fitting end to a tyrant King.

Fair play to Jack Gleeson though, the Irish actor is known for how sound he is in real life, so he certainly played a blinder!
