It was the TV hit of the summer as so many of us got probably a little over-invested in the goings of a villa out in Majorca. Fans of Love Island will be delighted to know that the reality TV show will return in 2018 and it's set to be its longest series yet.

Applications have now officially opened for the next series and it states that islanders will need to be available for "a minimum of ten weeks" from May 2018.

2017's show ran for eight weeks while 2016 went on for just six, so it looks like 2018 will be its longest series yet, which means more singletons, more drama and even more mugging off.
