This week has seen some well-known and some not-so-well-known TV shows either reupped for another season or kicked to the curb.

The biggest news so far is that Arrested Development looks set for another season, with Jason Bateman officially signing on for a new season, whilst 2 Broke Girls finally bites the dust after six seasons.

The sitcom, starring Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, started strong with high ratings but eventually those began to dip over the years to a point where it was essentially filler on the schedule. The early word was that a smaller season might be considered for the seventh season, but according to Deadline's report, that deal fell through at the eleventh hour and the show was then officially cancelled.

Rumours suggest that 2 Broke Girls was, in fact, bumped off to make room for the long-awaited Big Bang Theory spinoff, Young Sheldon, which has been ordered straight to series and is expected to debut on US TV before the end of the year.

In a short statement via Twitter, Kat Dennings thanked fans for watching and for "all the things this experience has given us."
