We'll assume by now you have binged your way through the second season of Stranger Things (read our review here), if not then away with you, here lie spoilers.

For the most part, season 2 was a hit with fans, although the seventh episode proved to be the most contentious, with some feeling that Eleven's little jaunt to Chicago was somewhat jarring and unnecessary. While she was there, she met her 'sista from another mista' Kali (Linnea Berthelsen), who was as similarly powerful as Eleven and had her very own gang of criminal misfits to call her own.

The episode was almost cut from the season but creators The Duffer Brothers ultimately decided that is was important to Eleven's journey, and now it looks like we could be seeing more of Kali in the third season.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Matt Duffer said, "It feels weird to me that we wouldn't solve [Kali's] storyline.

"I would say chances are very high she comes back."

It turns out that the character of Kali was originally supposed to be male - "Initially, we were actually looking for a guy, that Eleven would have a brother," Matt said.

"We were looking for 30-year-old men. …[Nobody] was that interesting to us and we said, 'Let’s open this up, let’s open it up to women'. …. And [Millie Bobby Brown and Berthelsen] had I think a really powerful connection."
