If you can get past the subtitles, which we know you can - you impressive adult you - then you won't want to miss this upcoming Netflix drama.

It marks the streaming services' first Original German series, and if the trailer is anything to go by, it will have you hooked from the start.

Called Dark, it's set in a German town in present day where the disappearance of two young children exposes the double lives and fractured relationships among four families. In ten, hour-long episodes, the story takes on a supernatural twist that ties back to the same town in 1986.

The series is written by Jantje Friese and directed Baran bo Odar (Who Am I - No System is Safe) and is set to be an intricate puzzle full of twists.

Dark premieres on Netflix on December 1, 2017.
