It's a little scary how much Netflix know about our viewing habits, but it might be best not to think too much about that.

The streaming service just revealed some of their viewing figures for 2017, and the numbers show that Netflix users worldwide watched over 140 million hours per day, which adds up to almost a billion hours per week. We don't know whether to be horrified or impressed. Unsurprisingly, the busiest day of the year for Netflix in Ireland was October 16th, the day of Hurricane Ophelia.

One Netflix member in the world watched Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 365 days in a row (why would you do that to yourself?), while one Irish user watched the Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler film, Just Go With It, 308 times during the year.

Netflix also revealed their most watched shows of the year. The first list are the shows that were devoured (where users watched more than two hours a day), while the second list is the shows we savoured (less than two hours per day).

It's unsurprising to see shows like The Crown, 13 Reasons Why, Iron Fist and The Defenders on the lists but we wish there was more love for underrated gem, American Vandal.

The survey of users ran from November 1st 2016 to November 1st 2017 which explains the absence of Stranger Things.
