Not content with being the youngest director to win an Oscar, Damien Chazelle is now looking to take on Netflix with his new series.

The Eddy follows a similar enough line to Chazelle's previous work, and will be "set in contemporary multi-cultural Paris revolving around a club, its owner, the house band, and the chaotic city that surrounds them."

It's early days yet, and no official casting has been announced, however the talent behind the camera is what's driving the buzz for this. As mentioned, Damien Chazelle is directing two of the eight episodes and executive-producing, whilst playwright Jack Thorne - who previously worked on Harry Potter & The Cursed Child, and This Is England - will be writing the screenplay.

Meanwhile, Grammy Award-winning producer Glen Ballard - who's produced albums such as Alanis Morrisette's Jagged Little Pill, Stevie Nicks' In Your Dreams, and The Corrs' Talk On Corners - will be writing music for the series.

No official release date has been confirmed, however it's understood The Eddy will be getting a 2019 release on Netflix.
