Secrets of Our Living Planet. BBC2: 8.00pm
Using beautifully shot scenes in the wild, Chris Packham reveals the hidden wonder of the creatures that we share the planet with, and the intricate, clever and bizarre connections between the species. For example did you know a tiger needs a crab, or that a gecko needs a giraffe? This week he investigates how white rhinos in Kenya create essential nitrogen hotspots by trimming and fertilising grass, how fruit-eating maned wolves control the Brazilian Cerrado, and how the Australian outback is managed by rat kangaroos and bandicoots.
