Room to Improve Christmas Special: NCH Tallaght. RTE1: 9.35pm

In this special edition, architect Dermot Bannon is commissioned by National Children's Hospital, Tallaght to rescue a forlorn and rundown balcony space on the first floor and create an outdoor garden and recreation area for children and their families. The existing facilities for play and therapeutic exercise are limited to the interior of the hospital and there's no place for parents to relax or spend time with their kids in the fresh air. The architect has a limited budget to deal with the complexities of the venture, which involves avoiding cross-contamination and extremely strict health and safety protocols, all the while sticking to a tight schedule. He also has to deal with Jedward at some point.
