Ireland's Search and Rescue. RTE1: 6.30pm
Claire Byrne explores real-life rescues as they unfold and the bravery of volunteer and professional crews as they try to save lives in harsh conditions. Featuring insights into the work of the Irish Coast Guard, Cork Fire Brigade, the RNLI and Mountain Rescue Ireland teams from Dublin, Kerry and Donegal. The first episode tells the story of the search and salvage mission for the crew of the fishing vessel, the Tit Bonhomme, and follows the multi-agency case in Portmarnock, when a local mother accidentally drove her car over a cliff with six children inside.
