British comedy is funny. The British Comedy Awards, not so much. Still, it might be better this year; last year was the most forced, unfunny pile of skit going. Jonathan Ross hosts the live annual ceremony as the industry gathers to honour the best comedy actors, actresses, entertainment personalities and newcomers, along with the pick of the year's TV and film comedies. Last year, Darren Boyd and Miranda Hart were recognised for their small-screen performances, and Lee Evans received the Channel 4 Award for Special Contribution to Comedy. Lord only knows what tonight has in store.
