The West End and Broadway musical phenomenon Wicked is returning to Dublin for a limited 7 week run next year.

Wicked has music and lyrics by multi Grammy and Academy Award-winner Stephen Schwartz (Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Enchanted, The Prince of Egypt) and is based on the novel ‘Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West’ by Gregory Maguire. It made stars of its original cast members Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth.

After being one of the most successful productions in the history of the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Wicked is coming back to the Dublin-based theatre. It will show from 17 July to 1 September 2018, and tickets (priced from €25) are on sale at 10am this Friday 30 June through Ticketmaster outlets.

The critically acclaimed and multi award-winning show is an alternative take on Frank L. Baum’s beloved The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. It follows two women who meet and become friends at Shiz University – the blonde and popular Galinda and misunderstood introvert Elphaba, who was born green. Their friendship is challenged over the years as their lives take different paths.
