While Donald Trump was the main target of Meryl Streep's impassioned speech at Sunday night's Golden Globes, there were other people who took massive offence to some of her comments.

Namely the Mixed Martial Arts community. During her speech, Streep made the below comment which many MMA supporters have taken offence to.

"Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners. If you kick 'em all out, you'll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts."

It was only a matter of time before UFC President, Dana White was asked what he thought about Streep's comments and speaking to TMZ, White said "the last thing in the world I expect is an uppity, 80 year old woman to be in our demographic and love martial arts"

"If you really look at who follows the UFC and follows mixed martial arts, it's everybody. I don't expect an 80-year-old woman to be a big fan of Mixed Martial Arts. And listen, everybody's into whatever they're....I'm not a big fan of golf. Doesn't mean people should stop watching it! If you don't like it, change the channel."

When discussing Streep's specific assertion that MMA was not the arts, White insisted that the talent of MMA fighters certainly fell under the umbrella of the term "art."

"Of course it's an art. I mean, these fighters, the men and women are so talented, they train their whole lives to become the best in the world and the people who train in UFC are the elite of the elite."

White then concluded that Streep's comment about the MMA was the equivalent of somebody saying that she wasn't good at her own craft.

"Saying something stupid like that is like saying that she's not a talented actress. Which she is, she's a very talented actress."

It should be noted at this point that Donald Trump, the man White endorsed for President, yesterday tweeted that Streep was the most one of the most over-rated actress in Hollywood.
