Skydiving can be a daunting experience as you're literally jumping out of a working plane with a bit of cloth preventing you from being strawberry jam on the ground.
Wingsuit jumping, however, is another thing altogether. By adding surface area to the body, it effectively allows for lift and users to fly at high speeds before parachuting to the ground. Last weekend in Davis, California, three Irishmen - two from Kildare and one from Armagh - set out to break out a number of world records for wingsuiting - and it looks like they've succeeded.
Marc Daly and brothers Stephen and David Duffy, who make up the Irish Wingsuit Team, dived out of a plane at 33,000 feet and reached speeds of up to 155 miles an hour in their flight and - pending official confirmation - broke 1 FAI World Record, 3 Guinness World Records, 2 FAI European Continental Records and 3 National Records in the process.
